Delivering Mix-Used Regeneration in Lisburn City Centre

Project Overview and Proposals

We are excited to share our proposals for the regeneration of the former Jordan’s Mill site at 24 Antrim Street, Lisburn. The proposals will deliver approximately 63 new homes across private, affordable and social tenures in the heart of the city centre. The development will also provide two new ground floor units that could be used for retail, community or cultural purposes, supporting the economy and community in the city.

Where is the Proposed Site?

The mixed-use development proposes the redevelopment of the former Jordan’s Mill car park located in Lisburn City Centre and with frontage along Antrim Street and McKeown Street.

Key Benefits of the Proposals

The proposal will deliver a range of homes, including 2 bed maisonettes and 1 and 2-bedroom apartments and bespoke ground floor wheelchair accessible units. Many of the homes are designed for the over-55s and those requiring affordable homes.  The mix of house types and provision of high quality homes will support the needs of a range of potential occupiers and assist the integration and development of a truly mixed community in Lisburn.

Providing High-Quality Amenity Space at a Sustainable location

Alongside the provision of high quality accommodation, the scheme is designed around a central communal amenity space comprising high-quality hard and soft landscaping, to create an attractive and usable internal environment for the benefit of residents. The development is also located in close proximity to high-quality public realm within the city centre. The site is also situated in a highly sustainable location within close walking distance of city centre shops and services and just 300m from Lisburn Train Station and 200-350 metres from bus halts located southeast of the site on Chapel Hill, northeast on Bachelors Walk, and eastbound on Wallace Avenue.

A Transformational Investment in Lisburn City Centre

Despite being a key site of scale within Lisburn City Centre, the land has been vacant for a number of years and the existing buildings have become run down and dilapidated. The proposed redevelopment will provide long term sustainable uses at this site which will contribute to and promote urban renewal of Lisburn City Centre by supporting it’s vibrancy and vitality. The two non-residential units could be utilised for a range of uses including retail, local enterprise, cultural or community uses right in the heart of the city centre.
